Patience and Planning
Pastor Terry Wilcox | Nehemiah 2:11-20

Knowing the lessons revealed in Nehemiah building the wall of Jerusalem encourages and instructs us corporately as a church family and individually to glorify God with our lives.

Nehemiah 2:11-20

  1. The challenge of patience. – Nehemiah 2:1,11
Nehemiah 2:1 TLB – “One day in April, four months later.”
800 miles at 20 miles per day plus stopping for timber.
The prevalent question today is: How long will it take?

Prayer is not about changing the mind of God; it is about changing our minds, hearts, and actions.
  2. Nehemiah checks it out.  – Nehemiah 2:11-16
Nehemiah 2:12 – He forms a leadership team.
    What obstacles confront you?
    Make plans and keep moving.
  3. The vision and their response. – Nehemiah 2:17
    Were they comfortable or weary?
Nehemiah 2:18 – Nehemiah recounts the journey, and the people respond.
  4. The opposition begins. – Nehemiah 2:19-20
    Sanballat, governor of Samaria.
    Tobiah, governor of Ammon.
Geshem, governor of the southern province.

When we walk by faith, we will encounter the hostility of those who walk by sight.

You are chosen and purposed by God. – Ephesians 2:8-10
