Own Your Own Stuff

The setting: Luke 14:1

What Jesus did is a reflection of who He is.  Hebrews 13:8
The parables of Jesus have been called, “The autobiography of God.” Luke 14:16 – “…a certain man” is God.

Is the “Kingdom of God” something yet to come or something now?

  1. These people were not blindsided.
  2. They all offered lame excuses.
    We do this to shield ourselves from the truth.
  3. The deadliest addiction is hiding from the truth about ourselves.
    It shuts out all help.
  4. Understanding God’s amazing grace is the key to recovery and progress.
    This parable reveals both God’s grace and severity.

Today’s “love feast” is an opportunity to recognize our need and accept God’s remedy.
