God the Holy Spirit – Who He Is & What He Does

READING: John 16:5-14

BIG IDEA: The key to success in the new year is to experience revival via the Holy Spirit.

NOTE: Much of the weakness of Western Christianity comes from thinking the Holy Spirit is just a force like in Star Wars, or a Ghost, or something else. Getting this right opens the door to revival.

WHO IS HE?

1. He is God, an Advocate, or Helper, sent by the Father and Son for us.
   John 16:5-7 and John 14:26, Matthew 28:19, Acts 5:3-4
2. He proves the world wrong about…
   a. Sin
   b. Righteousness – 2 Timothy 1:7
   c. Judgment – John 16:8-11
3. He leads us to truth and reminds us of it, too.
   John 16:12-13, John 14:26
4. He glorifies Jesus!
   John 16:14-15

But HOW does the Spirit do all of this? How can we best tap into and support His work in all of these areas?
