To God Alone Be the Glory

Romans 11:36
Pastor Terry Wilcox

The Reformation came about mainly due to a dispute with the Roman Catholic Church regarding how people are justified before God.

We are spiritually dead and legally guilty.

Jesus Christ alone is the sacrifice that paid our sin debt.

The Greek word “helkuo” literally means to drag ( a one-sided affair).

The Glory of God is God’s uniqueness as the only God = His “God-ness”.

Is it God’s plan for us to reflect His glory?

Scripture makes it clear that God, and God alone, is the source – the only reason for glory. All glory is His.

I believe it is God’s plan that we reflect His glory!

So How Can We Live to His Glory?
Hebrews 1:1-3

How does Jesus radiate God’s glory?

  1. Love
    1. John 3:16
    2. Romans 5:8
    3. 1 John 4:16
    4. John 13:34
  2. Forgiveness
    1. 1 John 1:9
    2. Ephesians 4:31-32
    3. Mark 11:25
  3. Acceptance
    1. Romans 15:7
    2. 1 Timothy 1:15
    3. Luke 19:5
  4. Generosity
    1. Mark 6:30-44
  5. Joy
    1. Luke 10:17 *
      1. There is no greater source of joy than believing you will live eternally with God!
    2. John 15:11
    3. John 17:13
    4. John 16:20-22
    5. Hebrews 1:3

Jesus is Loving, Forgiving, Accepting, Generous, and Joyous. He is the source! We merit no glory! We have no glory! But we can do life to the Glory of God.
