What Do Angels Do?

A Gallup poll reported more than half the adults in America and three-fourths of teens believe angels exist.

WHAT DO THE ANGELS DO?

1. Angels are God’s messengers.
   Luke 1:26-28
   Judges 6:11-12
2. Angels protect people.
   Psalm 34:7
   II Kings 6:16-17

   John Paton responded, “Mr. Dickson, you are advanced in years now, and your own prospect is soon to be laid in the grave, there to be eaten by worms; I confess to you, that if I can but live and die serving and honoring the Lord Jesus, it will make no difference to me whether I am eaten by cannibals or by worm.”

   Do you have a story of being protected?

3. Angels lead worship.
   Revelation 19:9-10

   John was corrected when he started to worship the creation rather than the Creator.
   Angels don’t: answer prayers, receive our worship, or desire our adoration.

4. Angels collect our prayers.
   Revelation 5:8

   This says that our prayers are the incense of heaven. 
   Prayer creates an atmosphere where angels thrive.

   Recall Jesus’ lesson of Matthew 6 and imagine your prayer ever an aroma surrounding God.
