Matthew 6:5-13

1. Definitions:
   1. It is the first step to knowing Jesus.
      Romans 10:13
   2. It is taking hold of God’s promises.
      Luke 11:1
   3. It is reaching out to touch Jesus.
      Luke 8:43-48
   4. It is complying with God’s plans.

If we do not do them they will never be done. So God has left certain things open to prayer – things which will never be done except as we pray.”

   5. It is conversation between two friends who love each other.
      John 15:15
   6. It has been described as the breath of spiritual life.
   7. It is opening the door to Jesus.
      Romans 3:20

Why Pray?

1. It is necessary for spiritual life.
2. Communication is necessary for relationships.
3. It is necessary to our assignment.
   Matthew 28:19-20; Matthew 9:37-38; Acts 1; Acts 2
4. We can’t have unity without prayer.
   John 17:22-23
