What’s a Blessed Attitude?

Genesis 12:1-3

God gave Abraham incredible instructions followed by an incredible promise.

The promise is two-fold:

1. God would bless Abraham.
2. Abraham being a blessing to others.
   0.20% of the world’s population – 22.4% Nobel laureates
   Luke 6:12-13

   Then Jesus begins “the sermon on the mount” which connects blessings with attitudes.

JESUS-LIKE ATTITUDES TOWARD OTHERS

1. Realize not everyone will receive this truth. Luke 6:27
   Answers why some are blessed and others are not.
2. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Luke 6:27-31
   We can embrace the values of the world and settle for the blessings of the world, or we can embrace the values of Christ and enjoy his blessings.

   When we decide to act like them, we become like them.

3. Give for the right reasons. Luke 6:32-36
   a. Not because somebody has given to you. Luke 6:32
   b. Not for the praise of people.
   c. Because you are a child of God.
   d. Jesus expects his attitudes to become ours. Colossians 1:27
4. What we sow is what we will reap. Luke 6:37-38
