Stewardship is about what we do with what God has given to us.
I Corinthians 4:2 (NIV & NKJV)
Steward is from the Greek word oikonomous, which is from the noun, “house” and the verb arrange.
At the core, Jonah’s disobedience is a stewardship problem.
The fish is not the focus, God and Jonah are the focus.
Jonah 3:4-5
HOW TO MANAGE GOD’S OPPORTUNITIES AND BE SWALLOWED:
- Fear and prejudice are at the root of mismanagement.
Stewardship of our influence brings peace and confidence.
a. The remedy for prejudice.
Ephesians 5:18; Galatians 5:22
b. The remedy for fear is faith. - People suffer when we say no to God’s opportunities.
