You Can’t Surprise Jesus (He May Surprise You)
Mark 10:32-34, 46-52

  1. Nothing about Jesus’ torture, death, and resurrection surprised Him. 
    Isaiah 52:13-53:12 – written 700 years before His crucifixion.
      a. He knew the scriptures and He had divine knowledge as God in the flesh.
      b. What may surprise us doesn’t surprise Him.
  2. Jesus was committed, the disciples were astonished and the others were afraid. Mark 10:32
    Jesus is more committed to us than we are to ourselves.
      a. He continued to teach.  Mark 10:33-34
      b. He explained leadership.  Mark 10:40,45
      c. Mark 10:33 “Son of Man” is a messianic title. (See Daniel 7:13-14)
  3. Jesus knew He would suffer disloyalty, rejection, injustice, ridicule, pain, and execution.
      a. God is more in control than people think.
      b. God knows your details. Psalm 139:1-6
  4. With Calvary 17 miles and a week away, He stops for Bartimaeus. Mark 10:49
