Mark 10:32-34, 46-52

- Nothing about Jesus’ torture, death, and resurrection surprised Him.
Isaiah 52:13-53:12 – written 700 years before His crucifixion.
a. He knew the scriptures and He had divine knowledge as God in the flesh.
b. What may surprise us doesn’t surprise Him. - Jesus was committed, the disciples were astonished and the others were afraid. Mark 10:32
Jesus is more committed to us than we are to ourselves.
a. He continued to teach. Mark 10:33-34
b. He explained leadership. Mark 10:40,45
c. Mark 10:33 “Son of Man” is a messianic title. (See Daniel 7:13-14) - Jesus knew He would suffer disloyalty, rejection, injustice, ridicule, pain, and execution.
a. God is more in control than people think.
b. God knows your details. Psalm 139:1-6 - With Calvary 17 miles and a week away, He stops for Bartimaeus. Mark 10:49
