What’s Your Viewpoint?

Pastor Terry Wilcox

Philippians 3:17-4:1

Your view is determined by where you .
Philippians 2:5
Romans 12:2

In Philippians 3:18-19 Paul identifies God’s  and their future.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SECULAR AND BIBLICAL WORLD VIEWS

  1. A mind set on earthly values
    Philippians 3:19
The world says, “Take pride in your sin.”
    The world currently worships science/technology.
Scientific theories are disingenuously taught as fact, and the general public accepts them as truth.

  2. A Biblical worldview requires and practice.
    Colossians 3:2 AMP
Being spiritually minded is to practice looking at earth from heaven’s point of view.
    Philippians 3:20
Remember that Philippi was a Roman colony in southern Turkey and Roman citizenship was of enormous value at that time in history.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SPIRITUALLY MINDED

  1. Their names are in the . Philippians 4:4
    Revelation 20:15
    Luke 10:20

  2. They obey heaven’s laws
Citizens of Philippi were governed by Roman law, not  law.
Act 16 tells of Paul using his Roman citizenship when Philippian officials beat him and Silas and imprisoned them.

  3. They are loyal to the cross of Christ.
The world loves Jesus – until you   as per the Bible.
    Revelation 5:8-10

“The cross of Jesus Christ is the theme of the Bible, the heart of the gospel, and the chief source of praise in heaven. The cross is proof of God’s love for sinners and God’s hatred of sin. The cross condemns what the world values.”  – Dr. Warren Wiersbe

  4. They are  for Jesus. Philippians 3:20-21
There is awesome  in the present  of a future hope.

Looking at life on earth from the point of view of eternity with God results in great joy!
